mine goes a little bit deeper than that....
when I had my band when I was a teenager,
I was always told by fans of Jim Morrison
that I was Jim incarnated.......
to this day I was trying to find out why?
now, I know....[i rest my case]
by putting all the pieces together
and finding that song and video,
among other things....
yes, I accept my fate!

especially with the music I was making then.....

claiming to be Jim Morrison in this lifetime
is more of a burden than anything.........

I can go on forever and connect the dots,
hit or miss the spot for every star but I'd rather not,
I mean what's the point! who's picture is it anyway!

the movie The Doors portrays Jim Morrison to
be "a sort of" raging alcoholic lunatic with no boundaries,
but there was so much more to JIM than that..........
he was an asshole and a good guy too.
[so I've heard]

what I want the young guns to understand is
that Jim can be seen as a bad role model for our lost
youth. [as can so many other ppl in the limelight]

right before I got a band together after watching
-Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins perform LIVE-
I had a friend [R.I.P] who thought he was Jim Morrison.

the poor guy immulated his fallen hero's every step,
word for word, breath for breath [it was insane]
he introduced me to the Doors [thanks D] and carried the
No One Here Gets Out Alive book everywhere he went!
[still to this day it's mind boggling]

my friend[David] would drink sooo much and sing all
his songs and dance along side the lines of danger
and pose like him[JIM] all the time.....
that it now saddens me to think how so many
young kids out there today may do the same thing!

the same way Jim lost his life, my friend did his....
there is something to learn from this and that is
that we all have a responsibility over our own lives!
to make or break it is all on us and the truth will remain
to echo for the next generations to come!

when it's all said and done.

why be another poorman's Jim, or poorman's Billy
or poorman's Macko when you can be yourself and
blaze trails instead of following them.......

there are those that follow the road and
there are those that lead the road, for everything else
there is......[well, you know the rest!]

I saw a commercial a while back that featured Lebron James
speaking about Jordan's footsteps and how he wants to go
along that road [but] with a huge exception and that is that
when you reach down that same road too in life... he asks;
will you want to be like your role model or better than?

going back to David i remember just how difficult it was to
hang out and take care of somebody who was so drunk and
chaotic and careless as he was because he believed that
the Oliver Stone flick was all there was to Jim and the Doors
[I saved his ass so many times]
I was there for him and he still paid the price for his actions,
you will too no matter who is there for you if you don't watch out.

and
being crazy and acting crazy are two different things.
there is nothing cool about losing it!
if your not crazy, don't try to be or you might end up like david.
leave the crazy act to the crazy people, like me!
